____________________________"SEEING THROUGH THE EYES OF AN ARTIST"
My childhood heroes were great artists that I grew to know through books and museums. At the age of nine I knew l was a traditional artist winning first place in a May Company Store art contest. Through many years of study and painting my skill to create meaningful art has grown. I am very grateful that I have achieved a level of artistic ability that as a child of nine I could only dream of.
I am a Contemporary painter. Yet at my foundation I still revel in and rely on traditional values and skills to create my images. My paintings are stories whether they are figurative or not. I strive to create strong compositions that involve the viewer to share and explore emotions, rhythm, colors and shapes. Not unlike the musician who involves his listener.
The fact is the joy of being a painter is in the creation of the painting. I am blessed and grateful for what art has given me. It is a passion that continually motivates me to explore and express the making of art. I have learned to see through the eyes of an artist and the vision is Extraordinary.
My art has been featured nationally and internationally; in juried shows, museum exhibits, galleries as well as being juried into an exhibition in The United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland.
In 2013 my art has been featured in both the Palm Desert Museum of Art and in several gallery shows in the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs, California area. My work is now being shown at The Gallery Soho in Palm Desert, California. I have been fortunate to gain collectors both in and out of the United States.
I have been designated an Art Renewal Center Living Artist.
I have studied with master artists: Jove Wang, David Leffel, Jeremy Lipking, Jeffrey Watts, Caroline Anderson, Calvin Liang, William Whitaker.
I am a member of The Oil Painters of America, The Impressionist Society, The California Art Club and The Portrait Society.
